Technology Overview
DiscoveRx screening and profiling solutions assay solutions are based on a duo of proprietary and complementary technologies: Enzyme Fragment Complementation (EFC) and KINOME
scan's competition binding platform. EFC is a highly validated technology, well established in clinical diagnostics and further enhanced to provide powerful solutions to drug discovery research. KINOME
scan is a novel and proprietary active site-directed competition binding assay, which was born in 2003 as the innovative drug discovery platform that fueled Ambit Bioscience's® drug discovery and development efforts.
EFC
EFC technology is a proven, established screening technology in most major pharmaceutical companies and our
EFC-based HitHunter® cAMP assays are the market leader in GPCR screening applications.
PathHunter® technology, an adaptation of EFC technology, is an innovative and comprehensive assay system that enables live cell-based assays for pathway profiling and screening. Through our core HitHunter®, PathHunter®, and EFC technologies, DiscoveRx is able to offer assay solutions for every major class of drug target.
Active-site Directed Competition Binding Technology
The KINOME
scan platform employs an active site-directed competition binding assay to quantitatively measure interactions between test compounds and target protein. This robust and reliable assay technology affords investigators the ability to extensively annotate compounds with accurate, precise and reproducible data. This technology does not require ATP and thereby report true thermodynamic interaction affinities, as opposed to IC50 values, which can depend on the ATP concentration.
